Jenna Jalonen and Nóra Horváth are central figures of Hungary’s independent contemporary dance scene. In 2016 they initiated Collective Dope. Their joint works look at problems, changes, and relations that young people face in contemporary society, such as alienation, new communication technologies (social media, social network), the use of drugs, party culture.
[D]OPEN Your Move is the first encounter in Hungary of contemporary dance, urban, hip-hop, and street dance; this mini-festival comprises an international workshop, a concept battle, two performances, and a party. With this one-day event, Collective Dope wishes to provide the general public with a more comprehensive view of the world their works draw upon.
The programme includes a performance of Beat, a production in which Nóra Horváth and Gábor Ivanov associate different dance languages with the new forms of relationships that characterize the society of our time, seeking passages between the different worlds. Jenna Jalonen’s new work is an incredibly physical and raw, yet intimate and moving duet about human relationships.
