What happens when we confine complete strangers in the same space? How do relationships arise, and how do these effect those who are not part of them? These are the questions that are explored in the course of this evening. The two performances are only loosely related, neither is a precedent to the other, yet their dialogue is productive in many regards. Dialogue in fact informs every element of the productions, as well as the dynamic of reception.
A former soloist of the Szeged Contemporary Dance Company, Máté Mészáros later worked with such international artists as Ohad Naharin, Sharon Eyal, Myriam Naisy, and Wim Vandekeybus. He was a member of the company, Ultima Vez for six years, and has worked as a choreographer and educator both in Europe and overseas.
Following his studies at the Budapest Contemporary Dance Academy, Péter Juhász attended the SEAD in Salzburg, and went on to work at Les Ballets C de la B, as well as with Charleroi Danses, and Eléonore Valère-Lachky. He has been with Emanuel Gat’s company in France for years.
