This staged reading recounts those nine years (1903–1912) when the poet and his muse, Léda, corresponded to keep in touch, when they were not together in Paris, on the Riviera, in Budapest or Nagyvárad. During this period, which was peppered with scandals, an important body of poetry emerged, whose significance may even have eluded them.
This play eschews insider anecdotes to concentrate on the poet’s work, rather than his private life and passionate love; a work that emerged under the pressure of regular breakups induced by doubt, distorted emotions inflated by separation and distance, nationalist sentiments experienced under the influence of an alien culture, isolation, and the eternal struggle of the male and the female.
The intimate atmosphere and bourgeois setting of KuglerArt Szalon will make the audience feel as if being guests to Ady and Léda, and the hosts will reveal all their secrets to them, including the knack of fouling up everything for eternity.

Theater performance in Hungarian.
